LEGO F-100 Super Sabre MOC
Well... FINALLY it is here: the promised in-depth photography of my first attempt at a jet, or approximating the F-100 Super Sabre in LEGO. Armed with napalm canisters (inner-wing) and sidewinders (outer-wing), this supersonic jet packed a punch! Used in the Vietnam War by the USAF, it was extremely versatile: it had speed, decent firepower and respectable pilots. Of course, at the time, it was an impressive craft. Nowadays, however, nearly 50 years later, aviation has risen far beyond it. Nonetheless, I thought it would be cool to build this baby: one of the many pioneering aircraft of the jet age. I've approximated its markings using some of Brickmania's Modern Aviation Tile Pack, and swept the wings using three-bladed, studded propeller elements. It also possesses functioning landing gear (though you may need something like a LEGO pickaxe or LEGO harpoon part to unhinge the front gear, being wedged deep within the craft). Seating a mini figure, this ~1:35-1:32 scaled model is something I'm kind of pleased with, given the fact that it's my first attempt at a jet. Hopefully I can keep improving in terms of accuracy, realism and flow ;D.
That's all for now, posting something again soon! Comments and Faves, as usual, are greatly appreciated!
