DSCN4515-800
An early 1900s building in downtown Providence, RI. I am reluctant to mention the name--one I am surprised has never been changed--because it might be offensive, or borderline offensive to some people of a certain national origin, so if anyone interested in historic buildings wants to know, just contact me privately.
Separate from what the owners back then chose for a name, it is architecturally unique as it features this curved surface you see in the front, which sweeps back to a different wing on either side with a light well in between them. It is right on a corner where two streets come together and was probably shaped for the site, although I cannot be 100% certain because I haven't had the time to research it. About 20 years ago I used to occasionally attend functions held on the top floor, and the views from there were tremendous even though it is only somewhere around 15 stories tall. Nowadays it houses various offices, and possibly a bank on the first floor, although I forgot for sure because I was so preoccupied with the architectural detail ;-)
