Siren Rocks
Although Siren Rocks, which are located on Orak Island in Foca district of Izmir and which emerged when volcanic dust met with water , are known as the shelter of the endangered Mediterranean monk seals, it is also part of a myth.
The Siren Rocks, which we encounter in Homer's famous Odysseia Epic; It is defined as creatures with large winds, bird bodies and female heads.
According to the legend; The sirens enchanted the sailors on the passing boats with their supernatural music. Fascinated by the beauty of the music and the sirens, the sailors wanted to stay here until their death, and in these thoughts they crashed into the cliffs in the region with their ships.
