This building is King's College Chapel, which is the north edge of the quadrangle that makes up King's College. King's College was founded by William Elphinstone, Bishop of Aberdeen. Construction began in 1498, and the college and chapel opened in 1509. The "crown" atop the chapel spire was lost in a storm in 1633, and was subsequently rebuilt.
