1971 Ford Capri GT - IMG_6488 - Edited

1971 Ford Capri GT, registration XES 880L

As a young person during the 1980s, I definitely wasn't alone in yearning for a Ford Capri. Between its introduction in 1968 and production's end in 1986, Ford manufactured around 1.9 million of these fastback coupes, with a range of different engine and trim choices. This car is a Mark I, and was built with a vinyl roof and fitted with the 3 litre Essex V6 engine, producing around 150bhp.

This example has been modified for competitive racing.

On display at the Dundee Museum of Transport.
