"Cracked Canvas"
Death Valley has always been high on my list of places to explore with my camera, especially for its iconic cracked mud landscapes. There’s something about those intricate patterns that I find mesmerizing. So, imagine my excitement when, on a recent family outing to Scot’s Bay, I stumbled upon a small section of cracked clay. It wasn’t the vast desert I imagined of, but rather a wet clay revealed by the receding Bay of Fundy tides.
Although the exposed clay area was limited, and most of the beach was rocky, I focused on capturing the intricate web of cracks without letting any distracting edges creep in. Despite the challenges, I think it turned out to be a striking abstract piece.
I didn’t get the chance to explore much more of the beach, but this spot might be perfect for a future video shoot.
