Hands
Reaching up to the sky in the freezing rain.
Taken for Active Assignment Weekly: Macro World.
I went out for a bit of air after several days indoors with a really bad cold. Unfortunately, I got stuck in the freezing rain, but I managed to find cover. I took this from my temporary shelter. Thankfully, I was warned by a swan - it flew past in a panic and that alerted me to something coming. It turned out to be a huge downpour that came from nowhere.
What it took: I zoomed in quite a bit, but not max. I don't have a macro lens, but the branch looks much larger in the photo that in was in real life. I rotated the image by 2 degrees and that was it. No other amendments. I contemplated putting the branch on the right side in the right-hand corner, but I like it as it is. The background is a pine cone tree and the snow on the branches of it.
