The Hard Work of SEO

You may expect and desire for #SEO to result in an immediately successful lift in site visits, but in reality, it’s a very slow process. SEO has been compared to fitness in that it takes time to build up your system (body) to maximum potential. That means being disciplined and sticking with the right plan to the very end no matter how distant that might be. You go the course with SEO and you will reap the benefits in more traffic, leads, clients, revenue, and growth.

First of all, the work of SEO should always begin with an audit. One type of audit is the technical audit which looks at every single element on your site. It takes into account the things in all these elements that may mean a lower visit rate. For instance, one common mistake is having a video on your site that takes too long to load and therefore is resulting in a higher visitor bounce rate.

Another type of audit is the #content #audit looks at all the pages of a website to see what needs to be eliminated, repurposed, or rewritten for the biggest benefit. Sometimes eliminating content may cut down on traffic. This is actually a positive because it means that you have eliminated non-relevant traffic. In other words, you have ensured that visitors who don’t become clients or customers probably won’t visit your site.

It is not a bad idea to go through both kinds of audits for SEO. Doing so will give you a better understanding of everything that needs to be done to improve your pertinent visitor count.

Second, then you will want to do the work of technical SEO. This will mean working on a wide variety of website technicalities: Index status, crawl budget, crawl errors, internal links, sitemaps, site/page speed, redirects, broken #links, #HTTPS, and AMP. It won’t be helpful at all if you just fix one of these things that needs repair and leave everything else as is. Everything that is broken needs to be fixed needs to be repaired or the whole thing won’t function as it should.

Third, you need to find and implement the right keywords. This is one of the most important steps. There are some good books about it, the best may be “How to Do Keyword Research for SEO: Everything You Need to Know.” This is so imperative for company’s because if they can’t find you based on a keyword, they won’t be using you.

Fourth, concentrate on location demographics. You need to make sure that your name, address, and phone number is visibly present. In addition, there is a difference in the way you will talk based on your demographic targets. Make sure you are speaking the right way to them.

Fifth, form a content strategy. This process entails creating new content that talks about relevant services and products offered. In addition, the new content will help add important keywords. There is FAQ content, authoritative content, and user content.

Sixth, editing. Go over all the content and edit and do rewrites where necessary.
