Commando Memorial, Scotland
During the Second World War British Commandos and other specialist forces trained in the remote north-west of Scotland - an area that was completely closed off to all but locals during the war.
This memorial, located at Spean Bridge, just north of Fort William, commemorates the Commandos.
Behind and to the right is a poignant area put aside for personal tributes to individuals- most of which died in action in the years since WW2.
