Presidential aircraft

Pima Air and Space Museum is outside Tucson, Arizona and is one of the premier air museums of the world, with the added bonus of the Davis-Monthan Air Force Boneyard being over the road (the largest military aircraft storage location in the world).

In the foreground of my picture is a Lockheed VC-140B Jetstar. Most of the JetStars in US military service were used for VIP transport in both the Presidential Fleet and for senior military commanders.

Behind the Jetstar, on the right, is a Presidential aircraft, a VC-118A, serial number 33240, a military version of the Douglas DC-6 which was used by President Kennedy.

Partly visible, on the left, is "Freedom One", a Boeing VC-137B, which was a US military version of a Boeing 707. This aircraft became known as "Freedom One" after being used to return American hostages from Tehran, Iran in 1981.

A Jetstar was also used by Elvis Pressley and another one featured in the James Bond Film "Goldfinger" where the "baddie" was sucked out a window when it was broken by a gunshot.
