Centre-left is Buckingham Palace, with a large semi-circular road junction in front.
Above the Houses of Parliament is the open space of Horse Guards Parade. The green-roofed building to the right of there is the HQ of the Ministry of Defence.
Over the river Thames is the "London Eye" - a giant Ferris wheel with commanding views.
