Coreopsis Verticillata
I know, right? What a name. I thought these were wild daisies because they grow everywhere along the roadsides. When I looked up daisies they all had 12 petals and this flower has eight. After much painstaking research (what I do for my Flickr pals), I discovered it is Coreopsis Verticillata, sometimes known as tickseed. This is a small flower with a diameter of 1” to 2” across, yet it is in the sunflower family. It is a perennial and grows from 1 to 2 feet tall. I also discovered that it grows in the eastern United States from the State of Maryland south to Georgia.
I was trying to do a slider, but I don’t really have the right apps for that, so please feel free to criticize. HSS
