Beaver Dam
I am sorry, but there doesn’t seem to be a beaver in this photo. I wanted to call it ‘Beaver ... Damn’ but I thought it might upset people to think that I know that word.
I waited several minutes for one to appear, but then I got bored. Besides, the ‘Beaver Authorities’ may have relocated the little fellas, which they tend to do when their dam causes the water to encroach on the road. (There is nothing worse than encroachment apparently. We can all be plagued with tics and chiggers and nothing is done. Just let a beaver show up and immediately the authorities are taking care of the problem).
The other explanation, which I am rejecting out of hand, is that this is just a pile of dead detritus from the winter months. This pond has no current which would float the logs (well small logs ... okay sticks) into place. Besides, it looks too well planned to be an accident.
