I got 25kt northerly winds right now & I'm making another leg out to the west. I was using a patch of strong wind coming off NW Spain but I'm getting towards the edge of that, so my current plan is to head out into the Atlantic a bit then turn south, run down to the west of Madeira & the Canaries, get to the Cape Verde islands then try to find a way through the calm patches between Africa & South America if they're still there. I mean they might not be lol. The Cape Verdes are 1,500 miles away so it's gonna be a few days yet.
I'm kinda getting used to this boat now. I had to take in some sails last night cause the wind was up to 30kt & I kept getting knocked down, but now she's scooting along pretty well. With the foil down there ain't much of her in the water. She's basically just riding the foil, dragging her ass along the surface. IMOCA 60s are super fast. Real ones can do up to 40kt.
