Swift Common 947 DBCP 2509

Whilst waiting to photograph the Black Terns at Druridge Bay Country Park, I had opportunities to get some shots of other birds feeding over the lake.

Most opportune was a small group of Swifts, unusually late in this part of the world, that was feeding aboce the shore. Some of the photos show the expnaded crop which shows the birds have been hunting successfully.

Northumberland Swifts usually leave mid-August but we had several small groupd that hung on for a further month.
