Lapwing Grey-headed nogoo 394 E Chev 2501
On my 16th visit the Grey-headed Lapwing eventually came close enough to photograph properly in good light. Previously the only time I had seen it as nearas this was in driving sleet.
Interestingly on several photos it seemed to have frothy goo at the end of its bill. I suspect this is a defence mechanism of the earthworms it was eating. It wasn't a successful strategy! I left some photos as tey were but also photoshopped others to make the bill look better.
This is only the second record of this species in the UK and is probably the same bird as occurred in May 2023
