Planet Earth's Rotation 2021-02-06 20:36 UT to 22:50 UT

Here is a sequence from 224 images obtained over a period of 2 hours 14 minutes.

Each image was captured with a tripod mounted compact camera (Canon SX 160 IS) and a shutter speed of 15 seconds at ISO 400 until the batteries expired.

They were then adjusted using G.I.M.P. with a shadows-highlight correction to enhance the stars.

Finally they were loaded onto Microsoft Movie Maker to construct a video.

The result shows just over two hours of our planet's rotation displayed in less than 30 seconds.

The sequence begins with the constellation of Orion at the centre of the frame.
