Last Sunday Glove Daylily of the year.
I thought we were done for the season and then this cropped up from behind the spirea, a very nice surprise. None of the other daylilies bloomed this year. But there are enough flowers of various kinds to attract the bees, butterflies and other insects. The ants took care of the spongy moth caterpillars, so our trees didn't lose the leaves that the city warned us about. Thank God for nature's checks and balances.
