Minneopa Creek Lower Falls Morning Sun - Minneopa State Park
The lower falls is positioned to face the mid-morning sun once it is high enough for the light to clear the trees on the edge of the gorge. Just beyond the bridge is the upper falls.
Minneopa State park, established in 1905, is the third oldest state park in Minnesota after Itasca State Park and Interstate State Park. The name is derived from native american words meaning “water falling twice” which describes the two-tiered waterfall located within the park.
