Getting A Lick

On our November visit to Grand Marais I found some ice coated vegetation near the breakwater. I assume spray from breaking waves is responsible for the interesting coating. One plant with some icicles caught my eye. Then I noticed the plant beneath it had a shape that appeared to me like the head of a snake with the tongue flicking out as if to get a lick from one of the icicles above.

I did not pack a snakebite kit on this trip.
