ALCO's doing what they're known for

Delaware-Lackawanna PO-74 does their best to climb the grade for Pocono Summit through Gouldsboro. For my final day on the DL, they gave me a treat with a matching quartet of company motors along with the 3642, the worlds only remaining C636, on the point.

This was also the only time where I was actually able to get any of them actually doing their party trick. ALCOs are known for when you notch up rather aggressively, the turbos take a minute to spool up. This means that there's not enough airflow for the rate of combustion, resulting in the black cloud of smoke that they can produce that reminds people of the companies past of making steam locomotives. 10-22-21
