Meeting of the Minds
Here, we see a few of the important men of the Central States Steam Preservation Association (CSSPA), the volunteer group that operates & maintain the Iowa Interstate QJs. From left to right (and correct if I'm wrong with identifying who's who):
Robert Franzen: Board Member of CSSPA & the President of Steam Services of America. He is the Contractor that's in charge of maintaining the Iowa Interstate steam engines.
Mick Burkart: Board Member of CSSPA & the former VP of Operations at IAIS.
Steve Sandberg: the President & COO of the Friends of the 261. He & Franzen would serve as the engineers for the 6988 this weekend.
Unknown
Colin O'Brien: Board Member of CSSPA. He is also a life-long volunteer and board member at the MidContinent Railroad Museum.
To say that these men are pretty important for runs this weekend would be an understatement. 8-17-18
