Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes) Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, Maryland

This is a male. The female has extensive and prominent blue scaling on top of her wings (dorsum), thus mimicking the poisonous Pipevine Swallowtail. (see previous shots and info)
