Sachem -FOY female- (Atalopedes huron) Anne Arundel County, Maryland

Early May is a bit early for Sachems, but to see this very fresh female today was truly surprising. So far I have not seen any males this year.

 

Seen nectaring on Wild Indigo (Baptisia australis).
