Snaking through Cranberry
CP GPS-29 has a freshly-repainted SD40-2 in the lead, moving south on the CN Bala Sub through Cranberry ON with a train of loaded Herzog ballast cars from Sudbury. For those who don't know, CN & CPKeithCreel have a directional running agreement in effect between Parry Sound & just south of Sudbury at St. Cloud. All southbounds from either railway take the CN Bala Sub and northbounds use the CP Parry Sound Sub. For efficiency's sake, it's a great operational decision but definitely can have it's negative effects for foamers. For example, if this train was on home rails, the trestle at Parry Sound would be one of my top spots to snag a photograph. No complaints about this frame though!
