Linville Falls - Plunge Basin

I found this a tricky hike, not so much due to the elevation gain on the way back, but the unevenness of the trail on the way down - large steps, tree roots, even whole trees - definitely worth the effort though.

 

Later on in the day this is a popular swimming hole, but early in the morning, with no-one else around, this is quite serene.
