Supercharged Challenger V8, The First "BLACK WIDOW" by Roger Butzen, circa 1990s
Several modifications to Roger's Challenger V8 included his custom designed Chevy 283 overhead valve conversion and a Roots style supercharger. He dubbed his creation the Cadillac-Chevy Hybrid. It became a hit among model engineers nationwide so he donated his designs to the Bay Area Engine Modelers and a few were built by members of the club.
This engine is the pioneer of what eventually evolved into Black Widow V8 that was available as a casting kit from the BAEM club.
