The History of Alhambra

The Alhambra is a famous palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Spain. Originally constructed in the 13th century by the Nasrid dynasty, it served as the royal residence for Muslim rulers during the final centuries of Islamic rule in Spain.

The Alhambra is renowned for its stunning Islamic architecture, intricate arabesque designs, beautiful tilework, and serene gardens like the Generalife. After the Christian Reconquista in 1492, it was partially modified and used by Spanish monarchs.

Today, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most visited landmarks in Spain, symbolizing the rich cultural blend of Islamic, Christian, and Spanish history.
