where frozen applause riots

beneath normal breaths

and the paranoid

hesitates,

flows into herself.

Says, "no more, not today."

 

And will the approach delay

the deep delight of you?

 

A tentative confidence hugs,

confronts a corpse

that rumbles that place

where she jumped,

past the feeling

of being beloved.

 

Outside her window,

the wizard ash

traces her through

smeared glass,

watches her turn

to where a dish scarfs

green flames, she,

the inflexible witch

fasts in the jam

as coloured vinyl

twists without

one

explosive

verb.
