Redbrick wonder

This is Leigh Spinners, a pair of 20th century cotton spinning mills in Leigh,Lancashire,UK.

 

This part of the building is the number 1 mill and the central chimney stack, completed in 1915. The large windowless part you can see here is the "rope race", where the ropes from the mill engine ran up to wheels connected to drive shafts which ran the entire length of the mill and powered the textile machinery.
