The lack of passengers and a running number plate - along with the location at Stanmore Church - gives this view away as a staged shot. Harrow Weald`s `second `showbus` RM 855 was taken out for a photo shoot on 29 July 1981 whilst hardly anything else was on the roads as people watched the wedding of Charles and Diana on television.
No matter how much effort went into recreating a retro 1960`s look there would always be things that were 1980`s operational requirements and couldn`t be dispensed with. Such as the radio aerial dome on the roof......
