Around Chiswick Works
I took fifty pictures whilst stood outside Chiswick works for a couple of hours on 1 March 1979. Capturing RT`s on driver training was the main purpose knowing that their remaining time was limited which, after some twenty five to thirty years use was a not unreasonable expectation. Plenty of Routemaster types too all with years ahead of them. And then there were the `newer` types passing by in service such as DMS`s and RP`s. Who would have guessed back then that many of these were already starting to be withdrawn at just a few years old? RP 17 here looks quite smart having been fairly recently overhauled but it would only have another year or so of working in service.
