The Dora Canal Florida_0711

This canal was constructed in 1882, widening the original river Elfin to become navigable for bigger boats between Lake Dora and Lake Eustis. This enabled the chain of Harris lakes to be used as a commercial route. Now a beautiful one mile pleasure boat ride with lots of wildlife.
