Kiko’s duty

BUDDHA GARDEN PHOTO CONTEST

Location: BUDDHA GARDEN

All details are here

Kiko, the Shiba Inu, puffed with pride as he trotted through the overgrown garden. He'd been entrusted with an important task: guiding the lost souls back to the lantern-lit shrine.

The weight of the fishing pole felt good in his teeth, a symbol of his duty. From the end of the pole swayed a delicate paper lantern, painted with dancing koi.

He passed the stone statues, their silent forms watching him with ancient eyes. Kiko knew the path well, every overgrown fern and moss-covered stone was familiar. He was the guardian of this in-between place, the furry shepherd of wandering spirits.
