Lasting frost in Chicagoland.
It is just after 1 p.m. in Plainfield, IL, and this morning's heavy frost has still not melted away. From what I read in today's forecast discussion, I believe the severe frost is the result of a dense freezing fog that came through in the morning hours. Though this fog made air travel from Midway and O'hare Airports a nuisance, it sure made for a beautiful frozen landscape in suburbia.
