Babe Ruth's Brooklyn Dodgers Coach Uniform, 1938

In the 1930s, the Brooklyn Dodgers were struggling to find wins and fans. General Manager Larry MacPhail decided to sign Ruth as the new Brooklyn Dodgers first base coach. Ticket sales soared as crowds gathered to watch Ruth participate in batting practice prior to games. Ruth, however, did not get along with player Leo Durocher. When Durocher became the new manager in 1938, Ruth left Brooklyn and baseball forever.
