The Monster of Loch Gosau
Day 5
Day 5 marked the day of my return home. I plotted a way that would enable me to visit a lake that I had wanted to see again for quite some time but hadn't gotten to. On my way to Gosau lake I was stopped in the Lammer valley for a mandatory check of my COVID status. Only those with a valid vaccination, recovery or test certificate were allowed to leave the district due to the high number of COVID cases.
When I reached Gosau lake I remembered vividly how a fighter jet had roared through the narrow valley above the lake and pulled up in front of the Dachstein many years ago. This time it was very peaceful, only a few people walking around. The woods around the lake glowed in various shades of yellow and red and some divers seemed to reenacted the story of the monster of Loch Gosau.

Tag 5
Der fünfte Tag war der Heimfahrt gewidmet. Ich plante meine Route dergestalt, dass ich nach langer Zeit wieder einmal den Gosausee besuchen würde. Das wollte ich schon länger, kam aber nie dazu. Am Weg dort hin wurde ich im Lammertal zu einer Ausreisekontrolle angehalten und mein 3G-Status überprüft. Das dürfte wohl mit der hohen Anzahl an COVID-Fällen in dem Bezirk zu tun haben.
Als ich den Gosausee erreichte, erinnerte ich mich lebhaft daran, wie ein Bundesheerjet einst durch das enge Tal orgelte und vor dem Dachstein hochzog. Diesmal war es sehr friedlich und es spazierten nur ein paar Leute herum. Die Wälder rund um den See erstrahlten in wunderbaren Herbstfarben, während im See ein paar Taucher scheinbar das Monster von Loch Gosau nachzustellen versuchten.
