The year I started Railway photography 1973.
This is one of the first picture's I took on a visit to Paddington in September 1973, Class 52 Western Viscount stand's at the buffer stop's with 1Z33 a special , I don't know where it was from, Class 47 1654 [47070] on 1A24 which I belive was from Bristol, I still had a lot to learn about film and exposure's and yet to discover fine grain developer's at this time I was using a general devoleper which was ok but in poor light was quite grainy. By now I was hooked on the Western's and spent a lot of time trying to get as many picture's of them as I could. Here is a list of loco's seen at Paddington that day, with plenty of Western's on view 1006 1015 1025 1031 1037 1043 1045 1047 1048 1058 1067 1070. Class 31 5539 5685 5687 5803. Class 35 7001 7026 7028. Class 47 1540 1549 1586 1594 1601 1607 1610 1646 1652 1653 1654 1697 1714 1735 1740 1741 1837 1926 1928 1937 1947 1951 1955 1958 1959. and 1 renumbered loco 31416. I also photographed a St Pancras and King's Cross that day all those year's ago. 1973 was the start of many year's of railway photography , traveling many thousand's of mile's on BR trying to get as many picture's as I could and enjoying every moment of it.
