It was a nice sunny June day and I was photographing at Clink Road Junction, my girlfriend and I were sitting on the embankment opposite Clink Road box hoping to photograph a few Westerns, when the signalman come out of box and came across to us I thought he was going to tell us we were trespassing and to clear off , but no he invited us into the box and made us a cup of tea , that was the start of a long friendship with signalman Adrian Vaughan I later spent many happy hours photographing in the Signal Boxes that Adrian worked, the above picture was taken at Witham on 26/05/1975. L to R my girlfrend Lesley, Susan, Adrians wife and the man himself. I am still intouch with Adrian who now live,s in Norfolk.
