Kirtland's Warbler - Setophaga kirtlandii

The Kirtland's Warbler is an endangered species. It winters in the Bahamas and breeds almost exclusively in Michigan, where a program of habitat control and Cowbird elimination has allowed the species to make a comeback. There have been nesting pairs with fledglings in Petawawa, Ontario since 2007. The warbler has been sighted rarely elsewhere in Ontario, including Point Pelee National Park and Rondeau Provincial Park in May. This photo was taken in Point Pelee National Park.
