Despite all the booths, presentations, and the Tim S Dool in the Poe lock, the highlight of the 2024 Engineers day celebrations was the downbound Wilfred Sykes locking through the MacArthur lock in front of a massive crowd on both sides. Frequently found on the lower Great Lakes, the Sykes doesn’t usually get up to Lake Superior until late in the season which made this visit all the more special.
