DSC06236/Gopeng, Perak, Malaysia, 20103

When the ‘Movement Control Order' allows to inter-state travel, we made a trip to see Rajah Brooke in Gopeng. We are not guarantee to be able to see it. Nevertheless, we are really privileged to see in one of the Orang Asli settlement. Rajah Brooke butterfly is Malaysia National Butterfly, a protected species, is a birdwing insect, quite big in size, as well they flew like bird. We were so careful and stood at least 10 feet (3 metres) away to take these photos. By the way, this is a male Rajah Brooke, more green to the hindwings, the head is bright red. Females Rajah Brooke are browner with prominent white flashes at the tips of the forewings, rarely seen at very low altitudes. She spends most time in the canopy, often up to 30 feet (10 metres) from the ground.
