Western Pacific diesels climb the Highline.

The SWG (Santa Fe-Western Pacific-Great Northern) heads up the Inside Gateway out of Keddie, CA. Five F-units and a GP-9, in two color schemes, make for about 9,000 horsepower as the units work hard to keep their speed up on the upgrade across the Clear Creek bridge. Most of what's visible in this frame burned in the summer of 2021 in the Dixie Fire.
