ATSF Alco S-2 2304 near Calwa
This engine was such an anomaly that I even knew it at the time! Still in Santa Fe's black and white tiger stripe livery, this old engine (built in 1944) was still working yard jobs around Fresno, seen here near Calwa. Get a load of those boxcars - Rock Island and Southern - and I guess we hadn't invented cheap spray paint cans yet.
