Western Pacific westbound San Jose Turn at Patterson Pass Road

It's fall, the valley heat has subsided, the grasses have browned and the air is stale. The daily San Jose Turn heads west with another train climbing the 1% ascending grade to Altamont Pass, here crossing over Patterson Pass Road. Today's engines are the 917, 918, 3062 and the 913; three of the four, final-four F-7s on WP's roster and an interloper U-30B.
