Liffey-side poverty banners

Photographed here is the End Poverty stone on Custom House Quay in Dublin, Ireland

In 1992 the UN designated the 17th of October as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty

The year 2008 saw the unveiling of a commemorative stone at Custom House Quay as part of Irish efforts for this UN endeavour.

Visible attached to the railing on the riverside are quotes by James Connolly, Jim Larkin, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Michael D. Higgins, Sister Stanislaus Kennedy, Pope Francis, Kofi Anan, Ban-Ki Moon, and others.

In the background photographed here is George’s Quay Plaza home to Insurance, banking and capital investment firms.
