Proclamation of a Republic copy, Dublin

Every Easter someone or some people paste copies of the Proclamation of an Irish Republic around the centre of Dublin.

Originally, the Proclamation of a Republic was issued by the Provisional Government during the Easter 1916 Rising.

Today the act of pasting copies of the Proclamation around Dublin pays homage something that was done following the Proclamation by Patrick Pearse on Easter Monday.

The authorities today don't mind this activism, I suppose, as long a repeat of the insurrection itself is not imitated.

This copy was attached to a tree on upper O'Connell Street
