Free Julian Assange graffiti on Whitechapel High Street
At the time of this photo Julian Assange had been in British custody for only a month (he was arrested on the 11th April 2019). Feelings were still very raw among his supporters about his arrest in the Ecuadorian Embassy in Hans Crescent in Knightsbridge.
Assange had lived in the Embassy of Ecuador in London for nearly 7 years fearing political persecution for his role in publishing leaked documents that tarnished America’s reputation.
The graffiti was located on wooden boarding around a building site on Whitechapel High Street.
