The #BabsApp Garden on Dublin’s Grand Canal

With benches on the Wilton Terrace side of the Grand Canal passer-by’s are encouraged to sit and enjoy the picturesque little garden dedicated to Barbara Sheridan.

The Babs Garden raises awareness about Mental Health and promotes the use of the BabsApp.

Be Aware Be Safe (B.A.B.S), is a free app designed as an empowerment tool to promote mental well-being.

After losing his cousin Barbara Sheridan to suicide William Cummings decided to regenerate the stretch of land behind the Maxol garage near Baggot Street bridge.

The government authority with jurisdiction over the land, Waterways Ireland, allowed him take control on a trial period of 2 years.

He also developed an app (explained in the hyperlinked #Dublin_Inquirer article below).

The artwork and landscaping was completed by a group of volunteers headed up by Dean Carr, Niamh Mulloy and Tara Kearns.
