Archaeopteryx
Origami Archaeopteryx, folded and designed by me. Made from a single uncut 100cm square of alios kraft.
I have finally completed this thing! After many test folds and revisions since a couple of months ago, this is my origami version of this animal. It uses a diagonal 50x50 grid with a few 100th level shifters.
I've always wanted to make an origami dino bird like this, with my main goal being including feathers on both the wings and all along the tail. I even added some along the back of the neck though they ended up shorter than I expected. And as an added bonus, the wing and tail feathers are color changing, though obviously you cannot see it here. I definitely want to fold another one with some dual colored paper to show the color change.
